Course Summary
This course is designed for individuals who work with or around Hazardous Materials and require training to recognize and contain hazardous material spills or releases. This course will inform the individual of the basic hazard and risk assessment techniques, how to understand basic HAZMAT terms and information on the containment, control, and confinement of HAZMAT. Decontamination procedures and the roles and responsibilities of the Incident Commander are also covered.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course the user will be able to:
- Provide Knowledge Of The Basic Hazard and Risk Assessment Techniques.
- Understand Basic Hazardous Materials Terms.
- Know How to Select and use proper PPE provided to the first responder personnel.
- Know how to perform basic control, containment and/or confinement operations within capabilities.
- How to implement basic decontamination procedures.
- Discuss the role of the Incident Commander
- Know how to implement an Incident Command System
