This training provides a general qualification for personnel in the techniques used for safe rescue of personnel working in confined spaces and the necessary equipment to accomplish a safe and efficient operation. A valid Permit Required Confined Space E/A/S certificate from an established provider

NOTE: It is advised that the Permit Required Confined Space Entrant/Attendant course has been completed within 30 days prior of taking Permit Required Confined Space Rescue as the Permit Required Confined Space Rescue course builds upon knowledge learned from the Permit Required Confined Space Entrant/Attendant course. Additionally, as per OSHA guidelines personnel can not enter a Permit Required Confined Space without having taken a Permit Required Confined Space Entrant/Attendant course. Permit Required Confined Space Rescue does not meet that guideline. Due to the physical demands of the course, it is the responsibility of the employer and participant to pre-determine the participant’s ability to safely attend the course.

  • Describe OSHA confined space rescue and retrieval requirements
  • Explain the methods of hazard analysis
  • Explain confined space rescue and retrieval systems

  • Demonstrate the safe donning of confined space rescue and retrieval equipment
  • Practice the safe donning of confined space rescue and retrieval equipment
  • Practice basic techniques using confined space rescue and retrieval equipment

Qualified means one who, by possession of recognized certificate or professional standing, or who by extensive knowledge, training and experience, has successfully demonstrated his or her ability to solve or resolve problems related to the subject matter (OSHA Subpart C – General Safety and Health Provisions §1926.32).
